Bio-Vet, Inc. is excited to announce Dr. Nate Haas DVM, MS, DACVM has accepted the position of President & Director of Research and Development. Dr. Haas previously served as Bio-Vet’s Director of Applied Research and Technical Services and has worked within the company since 2020.
In this position, Dr. Haas will develop and oversee research, communicate animal trial results, and provide expertise within the company to strengthen the Bio-Vet brand, product portfolio and programs. With his extensive knowledge in animal health, he will also be a key component in presenting technical data to our associated stakeholders. He will support the company with strategic and managerial leadership to help train company and distribution representatives, and to assist in deployment of products within animal health programs.
Dr. Haas is a native of Lancaster, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where he earned BS degrees in Biology and Microbiology, and completed an MS in Biology (Microbiology Concentration) studying transport of enteric viruses in surface and ground water. After working for 2 years as a molecular biology Research Associate, he entered veterinary school, graduating in 2009 from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to his veterinary degree, Dr. Haas is board certified in Veterinary Microbiology, specializing in bacteriology and mycology.
Upon returning to Wisconsin he entered a veterinary practice as an Associate Veterinarian in a food animal practice where his focus was on dairy medicine while also working with many different production animal species. Before joining Bio-Vet, Dr. Haas held positions at Pioneer Hybrid International, a Clinical Microbiology Residency at the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, teaching positions at Madison College and University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine as well as serving as a veterinarian for the state of Wisconsin. He also held Board of Director seats at the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association Executive Board of Directors and the American College of Veterinary Microbiology.
Dr. Haas resides in Wisconsin with his wife and 4 daughters. He enjoys spending his free time participating in his daughter’s school and extracurricular activities.
His extensive experience and knowledge in food-animal veterinary consulting and his commitment to the agriculture industry will be a huge asset to the Bio-Vet team.
