Bio-Vet, Inc. is excited to announce that Dr. Luis C. Solórzano, PhD, Dipl. ACAS has joined the team as the Director of Applied Research and Technical Services effective November 18, 2024.
In this position, Dr. Solórzano will develop and oversee research, communicate animal trial results, and provide expertise within the company to strengthen the Bio-Vet brand, product portfolio and programs. With his knowledge of animal nutrition and health he will also be a key component in presenting technical data to our associated stakeholders. He will support the company with strategic and managerial leadership to help train company and distribution representatives, and to assist in deployment of products within the animal health programs.
Dr. Solórzano is a native of Guatemala and attended Escuela Agrícola Panamericana in Zamorano, Honduras where he graduated as an Agronomist. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison obtaining a BS and MSc degrees in Dairy Science. Dr. Solórzano earned a PhD degree in Animal Science from Michigan State University, and he is Board Certified by the American College of Animal Sciences.
Dr. Solórzano has worked in a Technical Services role both domestically as well as internationally focused in biotechnological applications to optimize gastro-intestinal health and forage preservation, lipids in ruminant nutrition and macro-minerals. In addition, Dr. Solórzano is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez.
